What medicine industry expects from budget-2013???

Health is the greatest gift, contentment is the greatest wealth, faithfulness the best relationship. To keep the body in good health is a duty otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear. Swami Vishnu-devananda, a disciple of Sivananda Saraswati and a strong votary of Yoga rightly said, it is the health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver. I agree with his statement but the thing is why our government not understanding the reality. Why they are not giving proper attention towards health care sector?

In order to strengthen the health facility in the country, the government should reduce the tax rate on import of clinical equipment. It is true that the Health industry falls under social sector like education, but now the time has come to grant it as infrastructural status. So that the bank could sanction loans at cheaper rate at the convenient of medical unit.

With few hours are left to present the General Budget, the Finance Minister should raise the health expenditure to 3 per cent as it is pivotal for the Indian society. The Indian Constitution guarantees its citizens, right to live and it must be respected by the state. Diseases like cancer, diabetic and other chronological diseases are on rise the government need to curtail the price of its medicine, so that maximum lives could be saved. The government has directed the doctors to prescribe generic medicine instead of branded one. But the thing is why generic and why not branded. Its rate need to bring down.

Upgradation of district level hospital, opening of new medical and para medical colleges should be incorporated in this budget. A large number of job could be generated if the government follows the above said things.
